What is RSS?
Really
Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution.
T-Net now offers an RSS feed of our daily news service with headlines, news
summaries and links back to the T-Net website (www.bctechnology.com) for the
full-text news release.
We encourage you to use this feed as long as you do not post our full-text
news releases on your website, and as long as you provide proper credit to
T-Net.
Whenever you post T-Net content on a publicly available website (meaning,
where anyone but yourself can read them), please provide credit to T-Net as
the source of this information with a “Powered by T-Net” graphic (or a T-Net
logo, with links to the T-Net website). We include a small T-Net logo in our
news feed for this purpose.
Why use RSS feeds and
readers?
With the growing number of websites and other content sources on the
internet, many people are finding it hard to
stay abreast of the latest news and information.
RSS and news readers bring you the latest “what’s new” headlines,
descriptions and links for your favorite RSS-friendly websites (including
T-Net) directly to your desktop, and allow you to monitor content that is
important to you. News readers are set to check for new content periodically
(usually every hour) so you can quickly skim the latest site information
(news releases in our case), decide what you want to read, and then go
directly to the stories that interest you.
Where can I get an RSS
Reader?
There are a wide range of RSS Readers available for most operating systems,
and many of them can be downloaded for free. Search “news aggregator or “RSS
reader” on Google or Yahoo to locate one to download. Generally, the process
for setting up an RSS feed with your RSS Reader involves the following
steps. Please refer to your specific RSS Reader’s instructions for
configuring an RSS Feed.
|
|
1. |
Put the mouse cursor over the RSS or “XML” Icon and click. |
|
|
2. |
Copy the RSS News Feed URL from this page to the clipboard or write
down the URL. |
|
|
3. |
In the RSS News Reader Application, follow their instructions for
creating a RSS News Feed by specifying the URL recorded from Step 2.
Some News Reader applications will allow you to paste the URL feed
from the Clipboard. |
CNET maintains a
great overview of RSS on its website, together with reviews of the top
RSS readers, and free direct downloads of RSS readers (from their affiliated
www.download.com
website).

RSS Terms of Use
RSS (really simple syndication) service is a means by which T-Net offers
feeds of our daily news headlines in XML format ("RSS Content") to visitors
to T-Net (the "T-Net Site") who use RSS aggregators (or “RSS Readers”).
These Terms of Use govern your use of the RSS service. The use of the RSS
service also is subject to the terms and conditions of the
general
T-Net Website Terms of Service, which governs the use of all of T-Net’s
website, information services and content. These Terms of Use may be changed
by T-Net at any time without notice.
1.
Use of RSS Feeds:
RSS is a free service offered by T-Net to individuals for private,
non-commercial use. Any other uses, including without limitation the
incorporation of advertising into or the placement of advertising associated
with or targeted towards the RSS Content, are strictly prohibited. You must
use the RSS feeds as provided by T-Net, and you may not edit or modify the
text, content or links supplied by T-Net. For web posting, reprint,
transcript or licensing requests for T-Net material, please send your
request
by email.
2.
Link to Content Pages:
The RSS service may be used only with those platforms from which a
functional link is made available that, when accessed, takes the viewer
directly to the display of the full news releases on the T-Net Site. You may
not display the RSS Content in a manner that does not permit successful
linking to, redirection to or delivery of the applicable T-Net Site web
page. You may not insert any intermediate page, splash page or other content
between the RSS link and the applicable T-Net Site web page.
3.
Ownership/Attribution:
T-Net retains all ownership and other rights in the RSS Content, and any and
all T-Net logos and trademarks used in connection with the RSS Service. You
must provide attribution or credit to the T-Net website in connection with
your use of the RSS feed. If you provide this attribution using a graphic,
you must use the appropriate T-Net website's logo that we have incorporated
into the RSS feed.
4.
Right to Discontinue Feeds:
T-Net reserves the right to discontinue providing any or all of our RSS
feeds at any time and to require you to cease displaying, distributing or
otherwise using any or all of the RSS feeds for any reason including,
without limitation, your violation of any provision of these Terms of Use.
T-Net assumes no liability for any of your activities in connection with the
RSS feeds or for your use of the RSS feeds in connection with your website.
